Beirut city gate

Polyvalent art center

A city gate to Beirut was to be designed reflecting the city history and evolution. The chosen theme is art and craft, taking from the city its resources, providing it with art and e-tech spaces and creating polyvalent flexible spaces. Inspired by Jean Baudrillard, postmodernist sociologist, who spoke about : Polyvalent spaces and their evolution from real, neo-real to hyperreal spaces. “How to know if things we perceive are real or an illusion?” A closed 2D loop evolving in the 3rd dimension relative to time shaping a Polyvalent Art Centre, a postmodern City gate.
